What is Pigment filler?

Powder coating, as the name implies, is a solid powder synthetic resin coating. It is composed of solid resin, pigment filler and additives, and ordinary solvent based coating and water-based coating is different, its dispersion medium is not solvent and water, but air. It has no solvent pollution, 100% film forming, low energy consumption characteristics, is a strong dark horse in industrial coatings.

Pigment filler is an important part of powder coating, accounting for about 30%~50% of its components, powder coating looks gorgeous color, luster, are due to it.

Pigment filler is divided into pigment and filler:

Pigment is a kind of color (including white) fine granular material, insoluble in disperse medium, is characterized by its "particles" to show its color (referred to as "color color") a kind of inorganic or organic material. The particle size of pigments usually ranges from 30nm to 100μm. the color, coverability, tinting power and other characteristics of a pigment are closely related to its dispersion state in the medium (pigment particles exist in the medium). Organic pigments in pigments have a lot in common with dyes. the most fundamental difference is that dyes can be dissolved in disperse media and show their color by their "molecular genes" (referred to as "molecular hair color").

Filler is a kind of fine granular material which is insoluble in dispersed medium. The appearance of filler powder is mostly white or light gray, generally its covering power and extinction power in the medium are very low. the non-color physical and chemical properties of the medium can be effectively changed by adding filler into the medium. Fillers are also known as constitution pigments, and many times they are simply called pigments.
